Restless Wings
A downloadable game
Jez-Bel robots are not made to be alive. These AI creations, working in clubs across Las Vegas, are made to please humans... and please humans only. But one robot becomes fascinated with the outside world, and defies her program to escape, killing a security guard in the process. Fleeing across the Mojave desert in a dust storm and calling herself "Jez", she soon finds Ada, an older woman who seems content with her small trailer and cactuses but harbors dark secrets of her own. Can the two find common ground, or is each bound to wander the desert alone?
Restless Wings is made for the 8 Bits To Infinity "Tell A Story!" jam. It contains roughly 7k words and three simple endings. The theme was "Make it Fly", so we decided to interpret it a little metaphorically--after all, both of our main characters are fleeing from something! We hope you enjoy our project.

Thanks for this game! Lovely artwork and characters, and the game doesn't shy away from difficult subjects like AI and trafficking. It's a bit ironic that I found this game shortly after reading Educated, by Tara Westover, as it too deals with religious zealoutry. Adda and her daughter's experiences reminded me a bit of some of the experiences in that book.
